Custody and parenting time are among the most important issues in any family law case. Oklahoma courts focus on the child’s best interests, and custody decisions often turn on practical, fact-intensive questions: each parent’s capacity to provide stability, the child’s routines and needs, the parents’ ability to cooperate, and any concerns involving safety, substance abuse, or domestic conflict.

Custody also involves two related concepts—legal custody (decision-making authority) and physical custody/parenting time (the visitation schedule). Some families can structure workable joint arrangements; others require clearer boundaries to reduce conflict and protect the child. We help clients build parenting plans that are realistic and enforceable, and we advocate for custody and visitation outcomes that protect the parent-child relationship while keeping the child’s welfare at the forefront. When circumstances materially change after an order is entered, we also assist with modification and enforcement.
